LILIAN
ANOLD
WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER & FILMMAKER

ABOUT LILIAN
Lilian Anold is a Tanzanian wildlife photographer and filmmaker whose work captures the beauty and essence of Africa’s natural world. Her journey into wildlife photography began not in the wilderness, but in her family’s living room, where she first discovered National Geographic films on TV with her father. Inspired by those early moments, she has gone on to build a career behind the lens, telling the stories of the wildlife she once admired from afar.
Following a two-month mentorship with AFRISOS (African School of Storytelling), Lilian worked with Serengeti Balloon Safaris, photographing both wildlife and tourist balloon flights, an experience that brought her childhood dream full circle. She later spent two years with AFRISOS coordinating mentorship programmes, helping other young storytellers develop their skills in wildlife photography and filmmaking.
Her passion and talent soon attracted international attention, leading to contracts across the globe, including projects in the US, Italy, Spain, Uganda, Kenya, Australia, Rwanda, Denmark, and South Africa’s Kruger National Park. Most recently, Lilian worked as a camera assistant with BBC Studios Natural History Unit, supported by Project Songbird, on location in Kenya and Uganda for National Geographic’s landmark series HOME.
Today, she continues her work as a wildlife photographer and filmmaker in Tanzania, combining artistry, technical skill, and deep respect for the natural world to bring powerful stories to life.
