“The future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind: artists, inventors, storytellers-creative and holistic ‘right-brain’ thinkers.”

FILM FIXING SERVICES
Tanzania is a beautiful filming destination with its vast natural and cultural attractions. Completing a successful film project can be quite overwhelming, from obtaining permits and clearing your filming gear through customs to finding safe and reliable transportation and accommodation. Notice Kilimanjaro works mostly with independent film makers and/or small-scale productions by offering tailor-made services to enable them to successfully complete their film projects in Tanzania.
LOCATION SCOUTING
No matter where in Tanzania you’re looking and regardless of the nature, scale or budget of your film production, our location scouts will work with your requirements to find you the best possible location for your production.
We take a lot into consideration when scouting locations including logistics, safety, timing and permits/permissions. Our knowledge and familiarity with locations around Tanzania enables us to overcome language barriers, bureaucracy, connect with local crews and keep locals happy.
FILM PERMITS
Getting film permits in Tanzania can be quite time consuming and involves a lot of paperwork. We can guide you through the film permit application process which involves getting your application endorsed by the local Tanzanian Embassy in your home country then submitting it to the Tanzania Film Board for approval.
Once granted, the film permit lasts for 3 months, unless indicated otherwise in your permit. A film permit costs US$1,000 and it can take up to 6 weeks to obtain it. For last minute applications, the cost is US$3,000, and these fast-track applications can be processed within 7-10 days.
Let us handle all the paperwork and relieve you of the stress of administrative work so you can focus on what you do best.
CUSTOMS CLEARANCE
If you wish to bring film gear into the country for your project then we highly recommend you fly in with it rather than shipping it by sea so as to save time and unnecessary added expenses.
Upon arrival in Tanzania, your film gear will be allowed to enter the country as temporarily imported goods and therefore you will be required to make a cash deposit (security bond) sufficient to cover the associated taxes which you can then apply to get a refund on your departure. This process is quite long and tedious and the cash bond could be as much as up to 50% of the total value of the equipment. The process of getting your refund on the security bond can also take quite some time.
We recommend an alternative option, which most film crews use, which involves using an authorized bond agent who can handle the whole import and export process for your gear. Film crews will be required to pay the bond agent a non-refundable fee amounting to 10% of the total value of the equipment plus some processing fees. Notice Kilimanjaro has a very reliable, authorized bond agent whom we use for all our filming projects.
